THE blight of business administration could be over thanks to the launch of an online company.
Virtual Simplicity is an internet service that charges business owners to offload the burden of administration tasks such as accounts, photocopying, word processing, invoicing, travel and event management.
Joanne Docherty launched the business from her home in Brackley last year before committing herself to it full-time in January.
The 30-year-old said: "It is absolutely fantastic. Its such a great feeling to be working for myself and doing something I enjoy.
"I know how difficult it is for small companies to find time to keep on top of paperwork and this is a good opportunity to them to pass on the work and concentrate on the job itself."
Miss Docherty worked as a personal assistant for 13 years locally before
deciding to commit to her new venture.
"I got bored working for other people and realised there was nothing else really left to achieve," she said.
"Then it dawned on me, why not start doing it from home.
"Virtual Simplicity will appeal to all kinds of small business including builders, decorators and milkmen."
Business owners use the service by logging on to the website, www.virtual-simplicity.co.uk.and e-mailing their requirements. Paperwork needed to complete the job can be forwarded electronically, using fax or email, by post or by courier.
The company also offers a personal collection/delivery service within a
25-mile radius of Brackley.
Customers can choose to pay per hour, per project or on a retainer basis with rates negotiated individually with the client.
Miss Docherty says a survey by Barclays Bank found the average small business spends an average 15 hours a week on admin work, so this is one way to restore the work life balance.
She said: "I am targeting local people initially because I want to support local businesses, but there is no reason why I could not work for someone on the other side of the world.
"I really want be to be happy with the service and hope it can make life more simple."
