TWO brothers have transformed a long-term derelict building, rejuvenating a village economy and living their dream in the process.
Terry and Mark Stokes of Upper Boddington have opened The Village Garage, which will specialise in classic cars. It sits in what used to be a garden stake factory which closed four years ago.
The duo, aged 53 and 42 respectively, took over the site
in December and graft turned the run-down and overgrown structure into modern business premises.
And as well as housing their own business, it has created space for three other businesses to set up.
Terry Stokes said: "It's something that we've wanted to do for a long time but didn't have the courage to go for it.
"We've both got backgrounds in the motor industry, and services and MOTs for local people will be our bred and butter. But our passion has always been for classic cars, and that's what we want to specialise in.
"It's our first venture and we had to invest a lot of our money, something we were quite apprehensive about.
"And there are a lot of things to think about, far more than you anticipate, but we're fulfilling a dream and it's very exciting."
